MANU
Who
MANU is me, Manu. I design websites and then I build them.
I started making things for the web because I wanted to change how something looked and found out I could. That hasn't really worn off. The difference now is that the work has to hold up for other people — their customers, their reputation, their phone on a bad connection.
I work alone on purpose. Nothing gets diluted passing between a designer, a developer and an account manager, because there aren't any. You get one person who is responsible for all of it.
Belief
A website can work perfectly and still be forgettable. That's the part I'm interested in.
Function is the floor. Loading fast, working on every screen, staying readable and navigable — that's the baseline every site owes you. Above it sits everything that makes one memorable: atmosphere, rhythm, pacing, restraint. The reasons a site feels like somewhere you went.
So I care about the things that live outside a spec. How long a transition takes. Whether the type sits right at 380px wide. Whether the third scroll feels as considered as the first.
And it has to work. A site earns its looks by being usable first — beauty that survives a phone on bad signal is the only kind worth building.
